About the Young Actor’s Summer Conservatory (YASC)

YASC is a four-week theatre intensive hosted by The Black Repertory Theatre of Kansas City, a professional non-profit 501(c)(3) theatre located in Jackson County, MO. Directed by Damron Russel Armstrong, this program provides students with training from theatre professionals in drama, dance, music, stagecraft, and African American theatre history. The intensive concludes with a fully-staged production. Students must be available for the entire duration of the program, which runs Monday through Friday from 1 PM to 6 PM, beginning on June 2 and culminating with the show on June 27 at 7 PM. Tuition is free of charge, but the program is limited to 25 students.
